Heroin-
a semi-synthetic opioid drug that was used as a drug in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. The effects observed when taking heroin are due to the effects of morphine formed as a result of metabolism.

-reduced consciousness, sleepiness
-feeling of heat
– hallucinations may occur
Average dosages:
-smoking: 15-25mg – duration of action 4-5 hours.
-Peroral: 50-70mg – duration of action 5-7 hours.
-Intravenously: 5-10mg – duration of action 4-5 hours.
